Mordant + Dye Sampler

Experiment with the uniqely earthy possibilities of natural dyes in this hands-on workshop. Conduct your own dye tests exploring various types of fabric, immersion time, and mordantsmineral salt that help bond fiber with natural dye 

Learn how to prepare a dye bath using turmeric and onion skins, then block print with mordant paste to create patterns revealed through the dyeing process. Finish by hand sewing your sample strips into a patchwork square.
