Access Services

Wheelchair Access

The main entrance to FWM at 1214 Arch Street is accessible to individuals using standard-sized wheelchairs. The main entrance does not have an automatic opener. For assistance with the door, please call us at (215) 561-8888. Please note that FWM does not have reserved parking spaces.

The first floor includes an ADA-compliant ramp with handrails. All floors of FWM are accessible by elevator and have accessible, single user restrooms. Public access to floors varies based upon our exhibition and public program schedule.

Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are necessary; please inquire at the reception desk on the first floor.

Accessible Seating

Portable seating is available to visitors for use in the galleries. The seats are offered on a self-serve basis from the first floor coat room, however, Visitor Services staff are available to assist with seating if needed. The seats measure 24 inches high, weigh 4.9 lbs, and can support weight up to 550 lbs.

Other Amenities

Private, accessible all-gender restrooms are available at the rear of each public floor.

A diaper-changing station is available in the first floor restroom.

Water fountains are available near the restrooms in the rear of the second floor.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at FWM. No pets or other animals are permitted.

Content Transparency

Visitors will be informed at our Welcome Desk if exhibitions include flashing lights, loud sounds, or adult content.

Services Available by Request

FWM is committed to making our exhibitions and public programs available to individuals with disabilities. If you would like to make a request for American Sign Language interpretation, Braille or large-print materials, please contact FWM with two weeks advance notice.

If you would like to make a request for real-time captioning or verbal description, please contact FWM with three weeks advance notice. Be advised that these accommodations are contingent upon the availability of captioners and describers, respectively.

If you have questions or concerns about accessibility at FWM or on our website, or if you require a specific accommodation that isn’t listed above, we would be happy to discuss how we can help meet your needs.

For all requests and inquiries, email info@fabricworkshopandmuseum.org or call 215.561.8888 ext. 254 (voice). Relay and voice calls welcome.
