About the Artist
American, born 1983, lives in The Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico.
Rose B. Simpson has a BFA from the University of New Mexico, an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Her sculptures are in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston; Denver Art Museum; Princeton University Art Museum; Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ; Pomona College Museum of Art, Pomona, CA; Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA; and Clay Art Center, Port Chester, NY. Simpson recently enjoyed a year-long solo exhibition at the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian in Santa Fe, NM. In 2019, her works were also included in the exhibition Hearts of Our People: Native Women Artists at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, MN (now traveling) and Radical Love at the Ford Foundation in New York. Her first solo exhibition with Jessica Silverman Gallery opened in October 2019.
