Join this hands-on introduction to rug tufting with seasoned tufting artist Bailey Roper, who produced the impressive centerpiece rug that welcomes all into the Green Room. Following a demo from the artist, try your hand at a collaborative artwork using our Studio’s tufting guns.

Bailey Roper (they/he) is Texas-born artist, organizer, and educator. Their work centers around queer archives, silliness, liberation movements, and transsexualism. As an educator they’ve taught in numerous creative spaces in Philadelphia, including Fleisher Art Memorial, Mural Arts, and Theatre Horizon. Their fiber and performance works have been seen in The Fabric Workshop and Museum, Trixie Motel (Discovery +), Vox Populi, and the Da Vinci Art Alliance. They are a member of the experimental performance company, Ninth Planet, where they are currently making and touring performance installations for infants and their caregivers. They live in Philadelphia where they’ve resided for the past 12 years.
