In support of Sonya Clark’s upcoming exhibition, Monumental Cloth, The Flag We Should Know, The Fabric Workshop and Museum will be conducting a series of Truce Workshops. These events will bring together Philadelphians to explore a set of questions inspired by the history of the Confederate Truce Flag and related themes of Clark’s exhibition: What does truce mean to you? How can we acknowledge and reckon with racial injustice? What needs to be surrendered as we work towards racial equality?

Please join us for our inaugural Truce Workshop, inviting scholars, educators, city officials, and citizens for a conversation led by artist Sonya Clark. During the workshop, participants will be the first to engage with the artist’s new installation, Lesson Plan, and make rubbings of their own truce flag to go. Light refreshments will be served.
