Portrait of the artist Ania Lattie, a young Black woman with glasses who is showing off a tufted rug artwork.Ania Lattie is an artist from North Philadelphia who discovered her passion for textiles after joining the Center for Creative Works in March 2023. She has explored tufting, weaving, and sewing pillows, developing a practice inspired by colors, shapes, and textures. Lattie’s work was included in A Progressive Ensemble (2025), a group exhibition of eight national progressive art studios presented by Art Explorers at the Mendocino Art Center. She hopes to expand her practice to include realism and cartoon characters through painting and drawing.
