Join performance artist, award winning playwright, and author Lady Dane for an evening of poetry that explores current events, ancient myths, and future cultivations of the self. Positing trans folx as walking universes, Lady Dane takes you on a journey that asks what world you wish to be.

Co-presented with The Bearded Ladies Cabaret in conjunction with John Jarboe: The Rose Garden.

About the Participants

Lady Dane is the author of novels (Yemaya’s Daughters, Brew), novellas (Wither), and poetry (Baltimore: A Love Letter, Remains: A Gathering of Bones), and is co-editor of the Black Trans Prayer Book. She is a Helen Hayes Award-winning playwright (Klytmnestra: An Epic Slam Poem, For Black Trans Girls…, The Diaz Family Talent Show), and has also been nominated for her work as an actress and choreographer. She is the founder of The Inanna D Initiatives, which curates, produces and cultivates events designed to center and celebrate the work of trans artists of color.
