Celebrate the newest mural from PA-based artist Jesse Krimes, created in collaboration with young people whose lives have been impacted by incarceration.

Titled Riverside, the mural is inspired by Krimes’s quilt of the same name on view in Elegy Quilts at FWM. The project draws directly from a series of hands-on workshops with eight participants from the Mural Arts Rec Crew, part of the Restorative Justice program at Mural Arts Philadelphia. Guided by Krimes, each young artist created their own collage that imagined new futures and introduced symbols of identity. Krimes has thoughtfully synthesized their designs into a single quilt—and now a large-scale mural. The result is a collective piece that honors individual expression while telling a shared story.

Installed at 990 Spring Garden, this project reflects the power of art as a tool for healing and collaboration.
