In partnership with the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation, The Fabric Workshop and Museum presents a lecture by artist Jacolby Satterwhite. Discussing his current collaboration as Artist-in-Residence with FWM, Satterwhite will delve into the reimagined elements and new dimensions of his acclaimed digital animation work spanning nearly a decade in Room for Living, his first solo museum show. From the initial phase of his two-year residency, the artist has worked with the FWM studio team to integrate digital fabrication tools into his expanding practice, bringing animations to life in physical form. The exhibition features multimedia installations, new video works, and a virtual reality experience. Join us for this rare opportunity to hear Satterwhite reflect on the evolution of these new works and the ways in which they relate to scenes and motifs featured in his previous series.
