The painted forms in Ahmed Alsoudani’s exhibition Bitter Fruit resemble towering microbes, open wounds, and unfamiliar fruit. What are the many forms of strangeness we see and feel? How can representations of strangeness in art help us to grapple with the strangeness in ourselves and in our world? This First Friday workshop will offer participants a guided exhibition tour and hands-on printing experience to create a two-layered print that explores form and shadow with monoprinting techniques and carbon black ink made from vine charcoal.
