Conducting Connections: A Sound Activation by Raúl Romero

December 16, 2023
2:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Join Philadelphia-based artist Raúl Romero for an activation of his work, Music for Plants by Plants, followed by a screenprinting workshop.

During the performance, the sound sculpture within the installation will be sonified by Romero, who will translate the data captured by the plant into real-time sound. Viewers will be invited to join in to create a human circuit and listen to a data translation of energy as it flows through those connected to one another. A t-shirt screenprinting opportunity will follow each listening session.

Organized in conjunction with Sonic Presence (or Absence): Sound in Contemporary Art.
