Big Wash: A Conversation

December 10, 2020
5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Jonathan Lyndon Chase, Soapy Shower, 2020. Acrylic, marker, watercolor, spray foam on fabric. 24 x 18 inches. Courtesy of the artist and Company Gallery, New York.

Join FWM Artist-in-Residence/PAFA alum Jonathan Lyndon Chase, FWM Curator Karen Patterson, and PAFA Curator of Contemporary Art Jodi Throckmorton for an in-depth look at Big Wash, Chase’s upcoming exhibition at The Fabric Workshop and Museum. This is the artist’s first museum solo exhibition; Big Wash furthers their signature ability to move seamlessly between history and fantasy, as well as interior and exterior, with vivid depictions of eroticism, domesticity, queerness, nostalgia, and tenderness.

This panel will trace Chase’s creative process from their student work at PAFA to their current project with FWM. The discussion will focus on the ways in which their practice blurs the lines between public and private.
