What messages of hope, encouragement, inspiration, or acceptance would you send to your younger self? What objects, colors, or patterns make you feel at home? In The Rose Garden, John Jarboe (she/her) invites you into her childhood bedroom, where she reimagines and reclaims her own narrative. Before beginning construction in the galleries, however, she and the FWM Studio built a miniature model of the exhibition, enabling them to imagine and reimagine the space.

In this workshop, revisit and construct your own childhood bedroom in miniature using found imagery, recycled materials, textile scraps, and screenprinting techniques.

Organized in conjunction with John Jarboe: The Rose Garden
