At The Fabric Workshop and Museum, you can count on an unconventional museum experience—so why should tours be any different?
Join this guided behind-the-scenes tour of FWM’s seventh floor archive where you will explore a variety of stored collection pieces and process materials from former Artists-in-Residence and get a first-hand look at how their work is preserved. These tours will demystify collection management and provide a closer look at the life of an object in the museum’s care. Visitors will encounter a selection of works in storage by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Renée Green, and Marie Watt, plus take the opportunity to sift through process materials produced during residencies with Carrie Mae Weems, Ann Hamilton and Sonya Clark, among others.
Tours occur every Sunday at 1:30 pm and last approximately 30–45 minutes with a limit of 10 participants per tour. Reservations are highly encouraged to secure your spot and include general admission to the museum galleries.
