Philadelphia, PA, November 21, 2024 — The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) invites the public to celebrate the season with ‘Handmade Holidays,’ a series of festive workshops and in-store events that promote the appreciation of hand-crafted gifts. From joining creative events to print their own gift wrap to pop-ups with local craft and print artists, visitors will find a robust program of gifting opportunities inspired by FWM’s current exhibition, Soft/Cover. Handmade Holidays will run from November 30 through December 21, 2024 at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Center City, Philadelphia.
The festivities kick-off the weekend after Thanksgiving. On Small Business Saturday, November 30, the FWM Store will feature an in-store pop up event with textile artist Kalila Jones. On Museum Store Sunday, December 1, the Store will host its first of four Shop + Sip events in which visitors are offered a complimentary glass of wine while they peruse artist-designed gifts. Meanwhile, workshop attendees will learn how to make their own unique set of hand-printed stationery in the museum’s professional Print Studio. At select workshops in the series, attendees also enjoy a special 15% discount at the FWM Store to fulfill their holiday shopping needs.
Additional pop-up artistans include illustrator Hannah Moog (December 5), print artist Madeleine Conover (December 6), vintage clothing from Misc.Vntg (December 7), an indigo workshop with artist Anthony Folks (December 14 and 21), print artist Oonagh McKenna (December 18), jewelry artist House of Stuyvesant (December 19) and plush artist Ash Garner/THECOLORG (December 20).
