The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) is pleased to announce Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit an exhibition presenting an extensive display of artwork made by the FWM staff in a wide range of innovative materials and media. The title of this show—a reference to the British superstition of repeating the word “rabbit” three times on the first day of every month to bring good luck— is in memory of the life and creative legacy of Founder and Artistic Director Marion “Kippy” Boulton Stroud (1939-2015).
Since its inception in 1977, FWM has supported artistic experimentation through a collaborative creative process with its staff of professional artists in all areas of the Museum. Through FWM’s unparalleled Artist-in-Residence program, artists realize significant projects that redefine the nature of their practice, as well as the larger field of contemporary art. These residencies, with more than 800 previous participants, have helped to generate a permanent collection of over 6,000 objects and an archive that comprehensively charts a historical record of artistic production.
Encompassing over 40 pieces, this exhibition features a broad spectrum of art by: Kate Abercrombie, Rebekah Atkins, Carlos Avendaño, Tracey Blackman, Anthony Bowers, Michele Bregande, Trevor Byrne, Michael Cavuto, Shelby Donnelly, Paige Fetchen, Petra Floyd, Josh Graupera, Andrea Gaydos Landau, Nicole Morris, Serena Niesley, Ryan Parker, Andrew Perez, Julia Policastro, Brittany Rafalak, Christina Roberts, Sophie Sanders, Patrick Smith, Will Stokes Jr., Joy Ude, Armando Veve, Milton D. Westray, and Nami Yamamoto. Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit was organized by the full staff of FWM, including Stephanie Alison Greene, Justin Hall, Alexander Unkovic, and the artists listed above.
