Virtual Family Program

Stories by the Yard: Bear Trail

September 25, 2020
10:00 am to 11:00 am

Join us as we tell the real story of how local artist Jacqueline Quinn created her print, Bear Trail. Help us bring her yardage to life through sound, gesture, play, and creating your own treasure map!

Stories by the Yard is a virtual interactive storytelling event and hands-on art workshop for young children, school groups, camps, and families. Every season, FWM invites artists from around the world to be Apprentices. Coming to FWM for three months to learn the process of printing three color repeat patterns on fabric, the Apprentices translate their own stories, feelings, and perspectives into pattern designs to create their own yardage.

Participants will need the following materials to create a treasure map at home:

  • paper
  • drawing tools (such as pencils, markers, or crayons)
  • heavyweight paper (such as a postcard or cereal box)
  • scissors
