Two-Day Intensive

Freedom of Movement Pants Making Workshop

March 8, 2025 - March 9, 2025
10:00 am to 6:00 pm

In 1979, Richard Tuttle worked in collaboration with FWM to create Pants, a small edition of costumes for the Pennsylvania Ballet. With their exaggerated length and electric zig-zag pattern, Tuttle’s pants capture the energy of forward motion while defying traditional utility.

In this two-day workshop, learn the process of hand-painting with fiber-reactive dye or textile ink on white cotton fabric. On day two, we’ll teach you how to sew your patterned pieces together to create your own pair of loose flowing pants!
