In partnership with the Free Library and its One Book, One Philadelphia project, this year focused on There There, a multi-voiced epic of 12 Native characters by Tommy Orange, FWM invites the public for an afternoon of discourse and artmaking. FWM staff will lead participants through Echoes and Reverberations, a collections-based exhibition featuring work by artists Tommy Joseph of the Tlingit Tribe, Marie Watt of the Seneca Nation, James Luna of Puyukitchum, Ipai, and Mexican descent, and Chilkat weaver Anna Brown Ehlers. The tour will be followed by a hands-on screenprinting workshop and book discussion, delving deeper into themes of heritage and belonging.
