In this public screening event, follow some of the country’s most innovative artists as they go big and bold, responding to the challenge of our current moment with new paintings, sculptures, films, and performances that inspire and heal. “Everyday Icons,” the first episode of the latest season of PBS’s acclaimed documentary series Art in the Twenty-First Century, will feature Rose B. Simpson—whose work is on view both at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The Fabric Workshop and Museum—Philadelphia artist Alex Da Corte, as well as Amy Sherald and Daniel Lind-Ramos as they build new and exciting visual worlds and question the monuments and icons that came before.

Following the screening, join us down the street for a special evening tour of Rose B. Simpson: Dream House at The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM). Developed in collaboration with FWM’s Studio through a two-year residency, Simpson’s multi-room installation explores the imprints and through-lines that connect and orient her life as an artist, an Indigenous person, and a mother.

Rose B. Simpson: Dream House is on view at FWM through May 7, 2023.

Rose B. Simpson’s work, The Delegate, is on view at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts as part of the exhibition, Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America, through October 8, 2023.
